    Map & Directions

    Follow signs to Bantham from A381 Aveton Gifford to Totnes Road or from the roundabout on the A379 connecting Churchstow and Aveton Gifford.

    Parking

    The carpark at Bantham is approximately 100m from the beach with capacity for over 1000 cars, and is an easy walk over the sand dunes.

    The carpark fee is a flat rate charge for the day. All cars must be removed from the carpark by 9pm during the high season. At other times the gate is locked earlier dependent on daylight hours.

    Minibuses are charged £10 for all day parking (all year round).
    Concession tickets can be purchased from the gatekeeper.

    Note that we reserve the right to alter prices and times without further notice.
    There is a charge of £25 to release
    vehicles after the car park gates have closed.

    Dogs

    Dogs are allowed at Bantham all year round; however, restrictions do apply between May 1st and September 30th.During these months dogs are not allowed on the main beach.

    Dogs are always permitted on the beach beside the estuary, which at low tide can extend to many acres.

    The gatekeeper will be happy to give directions to dog walkers on arrival. The area is clearly signed.

    Ferry

    There is a seasonal passenger ferry crossing the river Avon, running from Bantham slipway to Cockleridge Ham (Bigbury-on-sea). Contact - Tel: 01548 561196

    There is RNLI lifeguard cover on Bantham Beach from May to October - 10.00am to 6.00pm.

    Bantham Surf Life Saving Club is committed to providing a safe beach and aquatic environment for the community, whilst developing life saving skills through the education and training of its members.

    The Gastrobus

    The Gastrobus, situated in the car park at Bantham beach, is open daily from 10am until 5pm during the summer and serves delicious, locally sourced food, gourmet burgers, freshly made baps, freshly baked cakes, luxurious ice cream and a selection of hot and cold drinks.

    The Gastro Treats bus, will open daily from 12- 8.30pm during the summer, on site serving ice cream sandwiches, take away picnics and a fully licensed bar with local cider, beers and a selection of fine wines.

    Every Saturday throughout the summer holidays the Gastro treats bus will be doing hosting special evenings including Thai Curry nights and acoustic music sessions.

    Caroline Hodges Flowers at Bantham Beach
